Session 4

Monday:

Pre-K-2nd Grade

Global Art Adventures - Embark on a colorful journey around the globe! In this class, young artists will explore the world of art and crafts from different countries and cultures. We'll create Aboriginal dot paintings, fold Japanese origami, design colorful masks inspired by African traditions, make chalk pastel drawings of the Northern Lights, learn about Henna art and more! Each week, we'll discover new stories and traditions through fun and engaging craft projects. Get ready to explore, create, and celebrate the amazing diversity of art!


Tuesday:

Pre-K-2nd Grade

Mini Builders - Calling all budding builders and creative designers! In our Mini builders class, students will dive into the exciting world of architecture. We'll explore shapes, materials, and design through fun, hands-on projects using legos, magnatiles, toothpicks, popsicle sticks and more! Students will learn how to draw blueprints, build bridges, design dream houses, and even plan their own mini-communities. Get ready to build, create, and imagine your way to becoming a future architect!

Wednesday:

Pre-K-2nd Grade

Playground Games - Get ready to run, jump, play and have fun! In our Playground Games class, we'll sharpen your agility, coordination, and teamwork skills and rediscover the joy of classic outdoor games like tag, kickball, hopscotch, soccer and more. Students will learn the rules and strategies of these popular playground games while improving their physical fitness and social skills. This class is all about staying active while having fun. Get ready to move and have a blast!"

Thursday:

Pre-K-2nd Grade

Dino Adventures - Embark on an exciting expedition into the prehistoric world of dinosaurs! Students will learn about major dinosaur groups, discover how fossils are formed and make their own fossil imprints. They will learn about dinosaur time periods, their habitats, their skeletal structure and theorize about their extinction. Get ready to dig into the past and uncover the amazing world of dinosaurs!

Friday:

Pre-K-2nd Grade

Unplugged Gamers - Join us for a fun afternoon where anyone who enjoys tabletop games can come compete or collaborate with friends! We'll discover classic favorites like Monopoly Jr, Sorry, Connect 4, and Crazy 8’s, and learn modern gems like Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza, Pieface and Greedy Granny! From cooperative adventures to competitive challenges we'll cover a range of game types while practicing following directions and good sportsmanship and having fun with fellow gamers!

3rd-5th Grade

Stream Geeks Academy - Stream Geeks Academy offers Tilghman Island Elementary students an incredible opportunity to dive into the world of broadcasting and camera technology. In this hands-on program, students will explore cutting-edge equipment in a fully equipped studio and tech lab. They’ll receive lessons in basic computer skills and learn about the various roles involved in creating professional productions. With guidance from industry experts, students will produce and broadcast their creations, sharing their work with the community. This program fosters imagination, creativity, collaboration, and a sense of community giving. It’s an amazing chance for young learners to develop technical skills and unleash their creative potential. Please note: This class takes place off-site and requires parent or guardian approval for van transportation.

3rd-5th Grade

Board Game Crew - Join us for an exciting adventure as part of the Board Game Crew, where students can unleash their competitive spirit and strategic thinking! Each week, we’ll explore a new theme of board games, diving into classic favorites like Sorry and Uno, as well as discovering new hits like Hasty Baker and King of Tokyo. Every session will focus on different types of games, from strategy and problem-solving to teamwork and creativity. Students will learn game rules, develop critical thinking skills, and practice good sportsmanship as they compete and collaborate. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the world of board games, our supportive environment encourages everyone to join in the fun. Get ready for weekly themed challenges, laughter, and friendly competition as we roll the dice and dive into exciting new games!

3rd-5th Grade

Innovation Station - Unleash your inner inventor! In our Innovation Station class we will dive into exciting challenges that require creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on building. Using a variety of builder kits, students will design, construct, and test their own unique creations. Get ready to explore engineering concepts, develop critical thinking skills, and bring your wildest ideas to life!

3rd-5th Grade

Photography Challenges - Get creative with your camera! Our basic digital photography challenge class is designed to inspire you to see the world in a new way. Each week, you'll receive a unique photography prompt to spark your imagination and encourage you to experiment with different techniques. Share your photos, receive feedback, and discover the joy of capturing beautiful moments. No prior experience necessary and cameras will be provided.



Pick-Up:  Designations of adults approved to pick up your children must be in writing.  

Bad Weather Policy: If school is dismissed early for any reason, TASK will automatically be canceled and parents should tune into the WCEI radio station.

Scholarships: Programs are open to all children regardless of their ability to pay. PLEASE contact XXXX for scholarships. All requests are strictly confidential. No child will be turned away!

Transportation: Bus transportation is not provided. However, carpool information is provided upon request.

My child has my permission to participate in the Tilghman After School Kids (TASK) Program. I understand that injury is always possible as a result of participation in such an activity.

I hereby release Talbot County Public Schools, the Tilghman Area Youth Association, Inc., and their employees or volunteers from any liability due to injury of any kind that may occur before, during or after said participation in TASK activities. 

I understand that my child is required to participate in a homework segment of the program each day during TASK.
